Our Commitment to Accessibility

Saint Paul Public Schools is committed to ensuring that every student, family member, staff person and community member, including people with disabilities, has full and equitable access to our digital content and technology tools.

This commitment spans all of our digital offerings, websites, online tools, instructional materials, hardware, software, and technology-enabled spaces such as classrooms, libraries and remote learning environments, as well as those connected to employment and community services.

We measure our progress against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Meeting this standard benefits not only people with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities, but all users of our digital services.

If you experience difficulty accessing any of our online services or need help navigating our digital content, please fill out the digital accessibility support form or call 651-767-8100.

  • All requests will be reviewed and a staff member will respond in a timely manner.
  • Accommodations and modifications are available at no cost to the requester.
  • Requests that would create an undue financial, technical or administrative burden may not be fulfilled exactly as submitted. We will work with you to find an alternate solution.

How We Are Implementing Accessibility

Website Testing and Remediation

We are continuously evaluating and improving our websites and digital tools to identify and address accessibility gaps, with a goal of providing an inclusive experience for every user.

Training

We build staff knowledge and skills around accessibility so that our digital content reflects our commitment to inclusive and equitable design.

Procurement

We hold our technology vendors to accessibility standards by requesting documentation of compliance known as a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), as part of our contracting and evaluation process.

We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time task. This work reflects our broader values of equity and inclusion for every member of our school community.
